Chemical Peels

Do you want to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin and restore that youthful glow to your skin? Center for Dermatology offers a variety of chemical peels to rejuvenate and improve the overall appearance of your skin. Because there is such a variety of chemical peels, we are able to customize your treatment to suit your skin care needs and help you achieve your cosmetic goals.

Chemical peels are comprised of varying strengths of medicated solutions that are applied to the skin in layers. Our expert staff will recommend the appropriate type of peel to help you attain your desired results. After the medicated solution is applied to the skin it is left to sit for a short amount of time to allow the solution to soak into the skin. The outermost layers of skin will peel and flake off over the next several days to reveal the healthy, undamaged skin. Chemical peels are safe for a wide range of skin types and can be used to treat and improve a variety of skin conditions. Chemical peels can often be used in combination with other skin treatments and medical therapies.

Salicylic Peel

A salicylic acid peel is superficial chemical peel that only impacts the outermost layers of the epidermis and is often used as a treatment option for patients with acne-prone skin. Salicylic acid peels are safe for most skin types and can be used to improve skin conditions like clogged pores, blackheads, and acne.

Mandelic Peel

This peel is a superficial chemical peel ideal for patients with sensitive skin or for those experiencing facial redness. Mandelic peels can be used to improve uneven skin tone and texture, sun damage, rosacea, and acne.

Glycolic Peel

This is one of the most common chemical peels and is effective on most skin types. Glycolic peels can be used to improve the overall quality of the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines, acne, uneven skin tone and texture.

The Perfect Peel

The Perfect Peel is a combination of low concentrations of acids and Glutathione, an antioxidant that prevents damage from free radicals. This peel repairs and nourishes the skin from the inside out and can be used to improve hyperpigmentation, reduce the appearance of acne and scarring caused by acne, and diminish fine lines and wrinkles.

Some slight facial redness and increased sensitivity to the sun are common side effects of chemical peels. We recommend you use extra sun protection if you plan to spend extensive time exposed to the sun following a chemical peel.
