To find out if microneedling is the right procedure for you, the Center for Dermatology team examines your skin and reviews your medical history. If you are a candidate for microneedling therapy, you will be scheduled for a follow-up appointment for treatment.

What Happens During Microneedling?

During microneedling, your provider will glide a Collagen P.I.N. device that utilizes a sterile disposable needle cartridge holding 36 microneedles across your skin. This device induces microtears at the desired depth that’s right for your skin. Microneedling treatment typically lasts 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Will Microneedling Hurt?

Prior to the treatment, a team member at the Center for Dermatology will first clean your skin and apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to make each procedure feel comfortable.

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

After microneedling, there’s minimal downtime, so you can resume normal activities right away. Some redness and swelling at the treatment site is normal and expected.
